Sept 20th 1930, Supporters Club Notes: The projected outing for tomorrow has unfortunately had to be abandoned owing to lack of time to make the necessary arrangements. But here is another little trip that may interest you. Nottingham have invited a few friends to visit the "Goose Fair". Arrangements are being made to take those who wish to go, and coaches will leave Stamford Bridge at 1.30pm on Saturday, October 4th, the return fare being 8/6.

"The official dance of the Stamford Bridge Supporters Club will be held at the Fulham Town Hall on Wednesday, November 26th 1930. This will be a Fancy Dress affair, although Fancy Dress will be optional. Two halls have been rented for this do with two bands and two large bars, licensed, of course, all for 2/- members or 2/6 non-members*.

A huge number of prizes are to be won for the best Fancy Dresses and in a number of competitions which are being arranged. The Fancy Dress Judges, I understand, are to be Gus Kuhn, Arthur Warwick and Wal Phillips. Don't forget Wal Phillips has a hunch for green, girls." [The Auto 14/11/30]

[* In new money two shillings = 10p and 2/6 = 12½p.]

Gus is on the right of the picture, in the Fez! The seated cavalier may be Wal Phillips, that looks like his cheery smile. No clue about the turbaned gentleman but perhaps it is Arthur Warwick.
