An 850cc Norton Commando set a new Production Class Record of 142.74 mph, for the flying quarter mile, at Elvington on 22nd -23rd September. This fantastic performance was achieved with a fully equipped Norton Commando, specially modified using Norton approved parts.

Europe 's leading Norton specialists, Gus Kuhn Motors, are now able to offer brand new 850cc Commandos specially prepared to order, incorporating all of the factory modifications and tuning parts, like the Record Breaker. These include an 'SS' camshaft, sports pistons, full-flow high compression head, carburettor velocity stacks and pushrod modifications.

Gus Kuhn Racing Department is properly equipped to carry out this tuning and fitting service, but at present it is restricted to brand new Commandos supplied by them. The cost? Surprising little, considering the extra performance available. The normal cost would be £90, but as a special offer Gus Kuhn Motors will supply a new Commando incorporating all mods and tuning for only £40 above the list price for a standard model. An extra £25 will also buy you a fitted transistor ignition. This special offer is only available until 31 st December 1973. It will revert to the full price afterwards.
