George joined the company in 1952, spending the first couple of years as a part-time salesman before being 'signed on'. He eventually rose to the post of Parts Manager.
During the war Staff Sgt. Brown, a motor mechanic by trade, was in charge of an army trials team and was always able to prove that he was capable of riding in a manner he expected from the team members.
Sadly, he was diagnosed with throat cancer and had his larynx removed in 1970. He continued to work, though talking through a throat tube, and he eventually retired in 1979. |
