Rafferty was in charge of customer relations and security issues. It was sometimes necessary to refer customer's complaints to him too, as his inter-personal skills were second to none.

He could also be relied upon to assist any member of staff during their lunch hour, always willing to cope with any sandwich, or part thereof, that they felt unable to handle themselves.
