"Gus Kuhn, was the man who won the match for Wimbledon against Belle Vue on Monday. ...the turning point of the match, and it is not too much to say that Gus Kuhn won it. Langton got very slightly the better of the start, but Kuhn held everything turned on, ran round Eric on the first bend, and continued thus, to lead down the back straight. Going in every direction at once, he held Eric back for three laps, until the ex-champion, just touching the leader's back wheel - or perhaps some flying portion of his anatomy - fell, leaving Jackson to amble in for second place. The match was all but over." [Speedway News 18/08/21]
